We know just how beautiful the black skin of all shades is, that’s why this bridal beauty shoot caught our attention. This look put together by Nomeyj Makeovers and a team of wedding vendors is no doubt celebrating melanin and we are here for it.

The Makeup Artist, NomeyJ Makeovers shared with us the inspiration behind it.

 My inspiration for this shoot was to appreciate the beauty of the chocolate skin tone. In whatever shade, melanin will always be beautiful. Alexandra Elle said “Black women were created of brown sugar and warm honey, the sweetest thing to bless the earth” and my focus was to showcase that beauty.

In some of the pictures, our model gives a sultry expression and in others, it’s sharp and edgy. This is the balance every woman possesses, gentle yet courageous, comfortable yet daring. The use of white on the model represents the purity of the black woman’s skin and how it is perfect just the way it is.
