As I stood there watching my best friend walk towards me, covered in her veil I remembered all that we’ve been through to get to this point. I was overwhelmed with joy at the reality that I wouldn’t have to do life without her. I don’t take it for granted that she had the free will to choose who she will spend the rest of her time on earth with and she chose me. After really getting to know me, she still chose me. A woman that I can be my raw, authentic self with. A woman who makes it safe to bring down the walls that hide my thoughts and emotions. Through the safety I’ve experienced with her, I’ve learned what it means to be real and raw before God.
