For the next few days, we will be featuring talented wedding vendors from Lagos, Accra, Toronto and the United Kingdom on different aspects of the wedding industry. Today, we will be talking to Toronto-based photography, David Fisher of Bigfishstudio.

Meet David Fisher

David Fisher,  the Founder of Bigfishstudio – your first-class shooter. I currently live in Ontario and I like to travel and capture every moment through my lens. Since 2011, my passion for photography grew when I had my first son, Josiah. I was very determined to capture every moment of his life. 7 years later, I became a specialist at wedding photography and cinematography. By the grace of God, I decided to follow my passion. I married the love of my life and became the father-of-three beautiful children.  Some of the things that I love to do in my spare time include eating food, playing with my children, studying my bible, biology, shopping and playing basketball. My objective as a photographer is to make sure all your special moments are captured.

How long have you been in the business?

I’ve been in business for about 6 years.

How has your work influenced/transformed the African wedding space/around the world?

My energy, my creativity, my consistency. I pay very close attention to colours, details,
and Time. For colours, it helps to bring out the beauty in the images. When it comes to the details. I try my best to recognize every vendor that is involved in preparation for the bride special day and therefore I make sure I capture the smallest detail in the wedding. Time is huge for me because sometimes on the wedding day you don’t have enough time, therefore I try to get the most important picture and leave the creativity for after.

What should a couple-to-be know about photography & videography ahead of their big day?

That all the work and effort they put into their special day, will be captured detail by detail lock in the memories for years to come.

Your top 3 wedding moments to capture

The bride getting ready, first look on the groom’s face, and of course, their kiss to seal the deal.

Tell us 3/5 things that people don’t know about you?

Married 13 years to a gorgeous wife, three beautiful kids. I love to study biology. I’m a huge basketball fan. Go Raptors go. I mentor youth in the inner city.

What’s your Favourite vacation destination spot?

Jamaica, I love the food and beaches and the music; it’s definitely my getaway spot.

One word that best describes you

Patient.
