When love happens especially when you’re not looking, it’s like flower bloom. It’s that extra spice you didn’t even know you needed.
For Bose and Patrick, two middle-aged fulfilled parents and grandparents, love was definitely not on the agenda. Bose, a divorcee in her fifties and Patrick, a widower in his sixties had no idea love certainly had grand plans for them. Well after a dinner set up by Patrick’s eldest son, magic happened.
Now the lovers are happily married, to enjoy the rest of their lives in each other’s company. This unique love story has us so emotional and reminds us that truly, love is timeless and has no limitations. Their traditional engagement was a euphoric celebration of love. The cheer and laughter in their wedding photos are super contagious.
Enjoy all the adorable photos below. Also, keep scrolling to read their love story according to the bride, Bose.
The love story, as Bose tells it:
I’m a divorcee in my fifties and Patrick, a widower in his sixties. We have 7 adult children and 4 grandchildren between us. His first son had set up the first dinner in the UK which was only meant to be a casual outing of three. Unknown to both of us, he had other plans. A follow-up dinner with just the both of us and the rest they say is history.
Our union is totally ordained by God. Our love story is special and our meeting unexpectedly rare at this age and time of our lives. We are now companions who plan to be in love until we are very very old by God’s grace.

January 18, 2021 at 5:33 PMBellaNaija, thank you for featuring this story! I don’t know the couple but I am happy for them. I am most happy because this shows that our parents can still find love, especially for women who’ve been through divorce. I have seen too many of our parents who’ve remained single and deprived themselves of experiencing this kind of companionship (especially divorcées) because of what society/culture might say.
Congratulations Bose and Patrick (and I will show this to my mother as encouragement 🙂
