Who says you can’t find love on Snapchat? One of the things we are grateful for is technology and how it amazingly connects people… as it did for Eddie and Faith!
Their sweet journey began with a friend request on Snapchat and it’s been a smooth sail from there. They realised they had a lot in common and these similarities only fostered their bond. Now, it’s a forever journey and they have us all up in our feelings with their super cute pre-wedding photos. Their love radiates in each frame and it is so beautiful to see. You certainly want to take in all the sweetness as you scroll!

Their love story as shared by Eddie:
It all started in August 2019 when I received a friend request on Snapchat. I saw the name Faith and thought “I’m open to making more girlfriends”. So I accepted the request and we began chatting. I realized it was a guy eventually, he was so funny so I didn’t want the conversation to end. As we kept talking, we discovered that we had similar backgrounds. Faith is so funny and sweet, I always looked forward to his messages and calls. We enjoyed each other’s company. We would speak for hours every day and even fall asleep on the call.
Although we lived in different states, we always looked for activities we could do together like online games, movies and dates. We eventually planned to meet and he cooked grilled steak and fried chips for me (a meal he always spoke of since it was similar to suya), it was the best steak I had ever eaten. He checked all my boxes. Faith is the kindest, sweetest, most thoughtful guy I’ve ever met. I knew I wanted to spend my life with him. When I finished my studies, I moved to Washington. We travelled the world together, learning more and more about each other. Faith proposed some months later and the rest is history.
Their love story as shared by Faith:
During my second year at the university, (Summer of 2017) I was praying in the afternoon and I heard a word from God that I would meet my wife in Washington. At this time I was residing in Florida. This did not make sense to me because I was not in Washington and had no plans of going there. Fast forward to the Summer of 2019, I was offered a job and the location was in Washington. It was at this time (2 years later) that the word I heard from God started making some sense to me.
Our first contact happened the day when I decided to take a leap of Faith to send a friend request to Eddie on Snapchat. I had seen her profile on an Akwa-Ibom in diaspora social media forum we were part of and when Eddie accepted my request, I kicked off a chat with her. Surprisingly, I was informed by Eddie that she was actually from Eket which is just a few minutes away from each other’s home and that she went to the same high school as my junior brother. This realisation fueled our further conversation and I was very interested to learn more about Eddie.
At the time of our first connection, we were thousands of miles apart but we kept our conversations going by continuous Snapchat streaking, FaceTime and virtual movie nights. Eddie is the sweetest and kindest person and I always love our conversations. She was so supportive of my goals, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.
