It is no longer news that love shows up in the most magical ways. Years ago, Gift and Nonso were introduced by a mutual friend while in Uni.

Even though they never really got a chance to meet, Cupid was busy plotting the perfect meet-cute in the background. They reconnected on WhatsApp and became inseparable after their first date. Now, they are making their love official as they tie the knot in an intimate civil wedding. They both came through looking dashing and their sweet love was indeed beautiful to witness. Nonso and I were introduced by a mutual friend in 2011. We were both in the same private university in Nigeria and could only chat properly when we were out of school due to school rules and other factors. We would often reconnect on social media throughout the years but nothing ever happened between us, we remained acquainted for the years that followed. In June 2019, I saw his WhatsApp DP. It was his brother’s wedding photo and because we never physically saw each other, I thought he was the one. I congratulated him on his wedding and his response was ‘Thank you.’ I asked when he got married and he said in April. He eventually told me laughed and said it was his Elder brother and wife… had to zoom in cause they looked so much alike.

We chatted every day after that day, he would invite me out for drinks but I never came out. One day In September, I did, and we became inseparable … lol. We both travelled out of Nigeria to two different countries in 2020, our on and our on-and-off relationship became long distance lol. We travelled on holidays together and spent most days and nights on video calls. Fast forward to 14th April 2024, on my birthday we had our introduction ceremony and on his birthday 22nd April 2024, we had our civil wedding ceremony and an intimate dinner with family in Nigeria. So here’s to #ourperfectbeginning together. The universe always brought us back to each other, no matter how often we drifted apart.
