While the pandemic seemed to have placed the whole world on pause, it certainly could not stop the wheels of love from moving. All thanks to social media, Chika and Imran found each other and it’s been an exciting ride ever since.
It all began when Chika made a post about the chocolate cake she baked. Little did she know that Cupid had something even sweeter in its love oven. This post led Imran to her DMs and eventually, he made his way into her heart. Now, they are set for a lifetime of bliss as they exchange their vows in an intimate civil wedding ceremony. They both looked stunning on their big day and the chemistry is hard to miss in each frame. We are so happy for these two as they embark on their forever journey.
Enjoy their civil wedding photos and love story below:
Their love story as shared by Chika:
Our story started on social media, during the crazy pandemic in 2020 when everybody was literally on social media. I was learning to bake at the time and I posted a chocolate cake I had made (I love cakes), and a random man followed me and texted in a few hours asking if I was a baker. I responded by saying no I was only learning, he then asked if I love cakes and I said yes. We exchanged numbers and started texting on WhatsApp. Fast forward to a week later, I got a delivery from a cake vendor and it was the most beautiful cake I had seen. 🤭 It was tagged anonymous at this point but I just knew it had to be him, so I texted him and he said yes, it was.
I normally don’t receive gifts but it was such a beautiful gesture (it really is the simple things). After 4 months of talking to him, he asked me on a date but the pandemic wouldn’t allow it because most places were closed. So, we opted for a car date in my estate and we talked for hours. At this point, I knew I liked this guy, but he is a Muslim and I’m Catholic so I was scared my parents would disapprove. We ignored the cross-tribe and cross-religion challenges and started dating. I was still in Medical school at the time and he was so supportive during those sleepless nights, he would basically be with me on the phone for hours while I was reading (it was that bad) 😂.
Imran is the most supportive and loving person I know. It’s been 4 years now and I still have butterflies in my tummy when I see him. It was so easy for me to say “YES” when he flew me to the Miracle Garden in Dubai and knelt down asking me to Marry him in 2022. I definitely benefitted from the Pandemic and I’m so glad to now call him my Husband ❤.
