Their love story as shared by Busola:
On a Sunday afternoon, a family friend, Mrs A called me and asked if I was in a relationship and I was like no, I’m single and living my baby girl life. She wanted to introduce me to someone at her church in Houston and I live in Dallas. She spoke highly of Yemi and said he is a good guy and helps his mom out in the kitchen and with other church members. She also said he is very good-looking, tall and handsome, has a good job, and comes from a good family. Mrs A also said that no pressure if I didn’t want to, she just felt like we should connect and we could be friends too. I agreed and told her to give him my number.
Yemi messaged me on October 2nd and we had a brief conversation, if you ask Yemi, he would say I was a dry texter lol, p.s. I’m more of a caller than a texter. I didn’t hear from him till Nov 14th, I was on my way to my dance class, and I told him I would call him back and when I did we talked all night and continued to talk every day like we’ve known each other for a while. My first impression on the phone was he was kind, corny, and confident with a nice voice.
Every morning, Yemi would send a good morning message to check in every day and he still does it now. I had not seen his face aside from an old WhatsApp pic of him. So one day, I finally decided to FaceTime him and was so drawn to his smile and how handsome he was and I was very attracted to him. It is a rare thing to find someone you can talk about any and everything and I had a spark, a light bulb moment, and knew there was something here. He is the man for me and our first date, Dec 2nd confirmed it when he planned the weekend and drove up to Dallas to see me. He was very proactive and intentional about everything, he knew what he wanted and went for it. He told me I was wifey and he brought my favorite perfume as a surprise gift and was a complete gentleman the entire time. He opened all the doors for me and even allowed my sister to third wheel on our second date (Yemi is a family man and has a very calm energy about him).
It just works with me and Yemi, he is my soulmate, other half, and best friend. As Yemi always says, we are a team and I’m excited to spend the rest of my life with him. We complement each other and go together really well, I am his fire that lights his world and he is my earth that grounds me. Yemi is my life and prayer partner, I mean I prayed for a husband like him. He is my answered prayer and God blessed me with even more good qualities than I asked for. All this to say, next time a family member, aunt, uncle, friend, or coworker wants to connect someone with you, give it a shot, you never know what blessings God has in store for you.
Their love story as shared by Yemi:
I was at church helping out and listening to the word of the Lord. Mrs. A walked up to me and goes you are calm and would be perfect for one of my daughters. She then proceeds to describe her speaking positively of her. She passed me her number and said maybe we could be friends. I was hesitant, Busola lived in Dallas, but I have been praying for God to take control and reveal the right woman to me. Prayer works. There are women, but your other half will always be your other half. Anyways, I shot her a text. She was extremely dry during our first interaction, hitting me with one-word replies, so I thought to myself that maybe she wasn’t interested and I kept things pushing.
Fast forward a little and something on this particular day told me to call her to see if we can hop on a FaceTime, maybe she was just not a texting person. I also wanted to confirm all the positive things I heard that sparked my curiosity. She picked up and said she was on her way to dance class but will give me a callback. I’m glad I reached back out and we’ve been on a love-bird trajectory ever since. We talk every day and we even have a bible plan session going. We support each other and learn from each other. She was rare, she was becoming my best friend, my teammate, she was a woman who was selfless, caring, patient, and biggest of all ate up all my corny jokes.
When I want something I’ll always go for it. I took a trip to Dallas on a weekend in December to finally see her and when I got back home from the trip I knew that was wifey. I had to be consistent and clear with my intentions moving forward. He who finds a wife finds a good thing, I had to snatch her up so my blessing could be permanent. When you know you know and I’m just ready for the forever part.
