Of all the amazing things technology has done, one of our favorites remains how it connects people, paving the way for the most beautiful love stories—just like in Kristia and Bode’s case.
While the whole world was placed on hold during the pandemic, love decided to set its beautiful wheels in motion. Kristia joined a dating app in her bid to meet new people, and little did she know that one of those people would turn out to be her soulmate!
Fast forward to now, and they are all in on their forever journey. To seal their love forever, they had a creative and heartwarming denim-themed civil wedding that showcased their style and chemistry. From their unique looks to their undeniable connection, everything about their day was a testament to the beautiful love that they share.

Their love story as shared by Kristia:
Our love story is one for the modern age—brought to life by technology and destiny. It all began when I joined Hinge during the pandemic, encouraged by my best friend as a way to stay connected and meet new people while we were staying home. Little did I know, that small decision would lead me to the greatest love of my life.
In January 2021, after a brief break from the app, I opened it again and saw a message waiting for me—a sweet compliment from Bode. Intrigued, I clicked on his profile, and something about him just drew me in. Despite the fact that I lived in New York and he was in Connecticut, the distance didn’t seem to matter. We started chatting, and soon enough, FaceTime became our lifeline. After countless late-night conversations, Bode made the drive to New York for our first date. That night, I came home and told my best friends, “I think I’ve met my husband.” I didn’t know what the future had in store, but deep down, I had this undeniable feeling that I had found the love I had been dreaming of.
Over the next three years, our bond only deepened. Every moment together confirmed what my heart already knew. So when Bode got down on one knee on April 15, 2024, and asked me to marry him, I couldn’t have been happier. Saying yes to forever with my best friend felt like the most natural thing in the world. We celebrated our traditional wedding at my family’s home in Virginia on August 3, 2024, surrounded by our loved ones. A few weeks later, on September 8, 2024, we had our civil ceremony at Hartford City Hall in Connecticut, making it official. Our journey, from that first message to saying “I do,” is a testament to love finding its way, no matter the distance or the odds.
