Every love story comes with its own magic. One of our all-time favorites remains the ones that show up when you’re not even searching—just like it did for Tola and Fola. 😍

Tola wasn’t searching for love; she was solely focused on school and earning her doctorate degree. However, love had other plans when Fola slid into her DMs. At first, she tried to resist, but how long can you fight what’s meant to be? Soon enough, they formed a beautiful bond, and now, that bond is leading them to the altar! Their pre-wedding photos are all shades of cute and we can feel the love in each frame. Their love story as shared by Tola:

I was a second-year pharmacy school student that was not really interested in men at the time. I was fixated on my studies as I wanted to achieve my goal of obtaining my doctorate degree. Then one day I see an Instagram request from some guy that happens to know one of my old friends. I ignored the request for a while and later accepted after seeing how handsome he was. For roughly 1 year he would constantly give me compliments and accolades on my little accomplishments in my DMs. I would hardly reply but as a dedicated man that he is he kept at it and never stopped. I remember he asked for my name, and I was so confused, being that my name was part of my profile. I said “Tola”. He then stated that he wanted to know my full name. Then I said “Ademutola” along with the proper way to pronounce my name.

He found my name so unique and different. His likeness for my name made my heart warm, being that it is not common. He was so respectful about how he addressed me. On April 30th 7pm EST, I had just finished wishing the first set of twins siblings’ happy birthday and I was ready to take a nap. I saw another compliment from this guy and this time I entertained a conversation with him. We chatted for some time before I gave him my number and said these exact words “Here is my number XXX-XXX-XXXX, use it wisely”. He smirked and said, “this was the best birthday present”.

I had no idea it was his birthday which happens to be the same as my twin siblings. From then on, he would stay up late nights with me as I studied, prayed with me, fasted with me, and laughed with me. The rest was history. I am so grateful to God for the day I gave him my number. I have never met a man with such gracefulness, selflessness, kindness, and loving heart. These characteristics and more made me say YES the day he proposed. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with my prince charming.

Their love story as shared by Fola:

I met Tola at a time when I had given up on love. I had fully recovered from a heartbreak that occurred years before we crossed paths. She had attended a party hosted by a mutual friend, and while I was on FaceTime with that friend – there she was looking so ravishing in that red dress and her melanin popping. I couldn’t stop talking about her till my friend gave me Tola’s Instagram handle. As a sure boy, I immediately followed her on Instagram, but she didn’t accept my request for some time. When she finally did, I eagerly liked all her pictures and sent her a direct message.

Although she didn’t respond to my messages right away, I remained patient, understanding that we all have lives outside of Instagram. We would catch up every other day during our free time. I remember celebrating her achievements and always complimenting her whenever I saw her Instagram stories. On the 30th of April that year, which happened to be my birthday, I asked if we could chat outside of Instagram. She gave me her number and said, “Use it wisely.” That was the best birthday ever, and the rest is history. To this day, by the grace of God, she has remained the hardworking, consistent, selfless, loving, and God-fearing woman I met a few years back. I am indeed grateful to God for bringing her my way.
