We attended the same church for some time but never exchanged words. It wasn’t until we both found ourselves at a birthday party that we finally spoke. That first conversation revealed how much we had in common, including the surprising discovery that my uncle was one of the founders of the secondary school Splendour had attended. This unexpected connection laid the foundation for what would soon become a strong friendship. As we grew closer, our bond became so natural that people often commented on how much we looked alike, pushing us into the “brother and sister” zone.

We laughed it off, but beneath the surface, something deeper was beginning to grow. I started to notice the many qualities he had that I had always wanted in a life partner. In my own subtle way, I let my feelings show, sending a quiet signal that perhaps we were meant to be more than just friends. Splendour didn’t miss a beat. Not long after, he took me out to dinner and asked me to be his girlfriend, marking the beginning of our love story.
