Daph Sees Her Bridesmaid Experience as an Unforgettable Journey That Strengthens the Bond of Friendship

Editor’s Note: Weddings often come with a truckload of unforgettable moments. Amid all the love and celebrations, there’s a special group of people who work behind the scenes and on the frontlines to make the day truly magical – Bridesmaids! This season, we’re turning the spotlight on this remarkable set of stars who are always there to lift, cheer and keep the vibes alive.

One of the beautiful things about being a bridesmaid is the opportunity it gives to immerse yourself in diverse cultures and traditions—it’s like a little adventure every time! Daph has rocked the bridesmaid role twice, and these opportunities have allowed her to delve into Rwandan and Ugandan cultures. From the vibrant outfits to the rich traditions, she’s loved every second of it. But it’s not just about the glitz and glam for Daph. She sees being a bridesmaid as an emotional and unforgettable journey that strengthens the bond of friendship.

How many times have you been a bridesmaid?

I’ve been a bridesmaid twice.

What do you think is the major role of a bridesmaid?

The major roles are to support the bride emotionally, practically and socially. Being a source of encouragement, reassurance & positive energy.

What’s the highest amount you’ve spent on your bridesmaid look?

The most I’ve spent should be around $400 because certain costs were covered by the team.

Church dress & Reception dress: $110 each

Hair extension was a personal preference: $110

Styling was free I own a bags & jewellery store so I usually give out jewellery to my friends for their weddings, but I count it as a cost from a business owner’s perspective.

Do you have any tips on being a bridesmaid on a budget?

Planning ahead of time

As a bridesmaid- Apart from the financial bit, everything else is mental preparation, make sure you’ve cleared your schedule at least a day before the wedding because you also need to rest, and when it comes to the financial part, the minute you say yes to being a bridesmaid you can start to put money aside depending on your usual savings plan.

What do you love the most about being a bridesmaid?

Given I’ve only been a bridesmaid twice, both those moments have been very emotional and unforgettable. It’s such a beautiful feeling for someone to have you on their team it shows not just love but also creates a bond.
