Ezinne and Sam’s journey began with a serendipitous encounter during the Christmas holiday—talk about the perfect Christmas gift! What started as a swift introduction by Sam’s sister has now blossomed into a forever love story. They sealed their love in an elegant Igbo traditional wedding, embracing the beauty of their rich culture. Ezinne looked absolutely radiant in her traditional attire, while Sam made a dapper groom. Their special day was filled with wholesome moments, celebrating love, family, and tradition. You certainly want to take in all the beauty as you scroll.

Their love story as shared by Ezinne:
Sam and I met at his family house in Igbere, Abia State. LOL! Backstory… his sister, Amarachi and I have been friends since primary school. Over the years, when we travel back to the east (Eastern Nigeria) during the Christmas holidays, as is typical for Igbos, we attend lots of events together; weddings, retirement parties, housewarming parties, etc. So, on this beautiful December afternoon in 2021, my sister and I met up with Amarachi at their house, so we could all go together for her uncle’s retirement party (P.S. we had initially planned to attend a wedding with my mum, however, when we got the invite for the retirement party, we decided to go for that instead).
Ezinne made such a gorgeous bride 😍
We got all dressed and as we were ready to head out for the event, Sam came back home. Although I knew of him, I had never met him before then, so when he walked towards us, we simply exchanged pleasantries and I went back to taking pictures and minding my business. A few days later, Amarachi sent me a message to say her brother asked for my number, and I remember wondering “Huh? how come?”, our hellos the day we met were very swift, so I didn’t even realize he checked me out… haha! I later gave my consent, he reached out, we got talking and went on our first date about two weeks later.
It was so easy becoming friends with Sam, the connection was natural and I just felt at peace. We started dating about four months later and on 17 December 2023, he pulled the sweetest surprise ever. I thought I was going for an end-of-the-year party with my friend. She made me dress up real nice (and she did too, which helped me not suspect), only to show up and see some family and friends… and while my brain was trying to figure that out, I spotted Sam (who was supposed to be in the US) standing there with a bouquet of roses, asking me to be his wife. Imagine my utter confusion but of course I said Yes in a heartbeat! With Sam, I have the widest smile and the loudest laugh. He’s so intentional and it’s been nothing short of amazing. I feel like God perfectly intertwined our paths for us to meet at that moment and I cannot wait to experience forever with the love of my life.
Talk about a gorgeous squad! 😍
Their love story as shared by Sam:
I still remember how I felt the first time I saw Ezinne, just like yesterday. I read her section above and chuckled at the line “she gave her consent”; anyone who reads that would think I got her number that day, that’s a lie! As much as I tried to stay cool, I believe I asked Amarachi, every other day, for Ezinne’s number…smh. After what felt like eternity, I finally got it and waited maybe 3 minutes before texting her, letting her know that I’d be flying out via Abuja and would love to get together. I suggested for us to meet at a video game arcade, because I wanted it to be chill, and it was such a fun time (I have a video clip of Ezinne screaming at the top of her lungs, while playing one of the VR games…lol). I was cracking up the whole time. We decided to grab a bite and drinks afterwards. The best way I can describe our relationship is organic. From the first time we met to our conversations afterwards, it just felt right. I mean here’s someone who I just met but it felt like we’ve known each other way longer.
Let’s check out the dapper groom! 😍
A few months afterwards, I knew I just had to come back to Nigeria to make it official. She thought I was joking when I told her I was coming, and a few days later, there I was, in Abuja, and I made sure to bring along her very own Liverpool jersey (welcome to the winning team my love… I just had to fix this in somehow). From then on, we’ve gone from strength to strength. It’s funny how I decided to propose to her, way before the proposal happened… lol. At this point, I want to give a shout out to my sis, Amara and the “umu asa” crew, y’all came through for me with all the advise and planning for the surprise proposal. My love, I want to say you’ve been my pillar, my joke stealer, you make me so happy and I can’t wait to see what we achieve together on our journey as life partners. I love you to the moon and back.
Love, beauty and culture! 😍
