Editor’s Note: Hey guys, we are back with another beauty deep dive. This time we are looking into Fatima‘s beauty looks for her two wedding events. Abuja-based makeup artist, Millie Mamza of Dazeita created these stunning looks on Fatima and she will be sharing the secrets, hacks and the products she used. Catch up with the previous feature here and see all the features in this series here.
Before the wedding
Fatima has every makeup artist’s dream canvas as skin! I loved every moment of my session with her, she is easy going and her lovely smile welcomed me each time we met. She called us over the phone to book her makeup on short notice, due to reasons beyond her control so we immediately set up an appointment for her bridal consultation to try out (match) her foundation shade, discuss the looks and her expectations.
On the wedding
On the first day of her event, which was the traditional Kamu event, we created a beautiful but striking look using burnt orange shimmer eyeshadow with a hint of gold and bold red lipstick; and for her dinner event, we had her wear silver satin eyeshadow with nude lipstick.
Makeup process
To start off the makeup process, we moisturized her clean face with Embryolisse hydrating face cream, and then applied Smashbox primer all over her face and an under eye primer to control creasing. Soon after, I applied the previously matched foundation by NARS cosmetics in MOOREA and concealed her undereye area using MAC cosmetics long wear concealer (NC35). Then I set the foundation and concealer using the Laura Mercier translucent powder and Lancome powder.
Moving on, I had her brows done using Blot cosmetics brow cream #2 ,then a burnt orange with a hint of gold shimmer eyeshadow was created with the Kat Von D spellbinding palette to give her eyes the attention it needed and then I added a pop of red using Fallie cosmetics liquid lipstick in Monroe and Diva. In order to bring the whole look together, we applied NARS cosmetics blush in Taj Mahal and MAC cosmetics mineralize skin finish to give a natural-looking, healthy glow!
The bride Fatima, had worked on her skin prior to her makeup appointment utilizing traditional skin treatments and scrubs like Dilke and so we had a smooth canvas to work on which in turn helped us achieve a flawless look, she really did love her looks; with that we are pleased and happy to have been a part of her big day!
Fatima looked so beautiful, we must say. To see more of Millie’s work, check out @dazeita on Instagram.
