Sometimes, we think we have things all planned out. However, when it comes to this beautiful thing called love, plans can change as we receive Cupid’s warm embrace.

The plan was for Esosa to attend a fun trip planned by Lola to win the heart of his crush. Well, things didn’t go according to his plan but love certainly had something up its sleeves. He met Lola and as they built a friendship over some months, he knew she was the one for him. He shot his shot and clearly, he did not miss.

Now, it’s all love in the air as they tie the knot in a beautiful white wedding ceremony. They both looked dashing in their outfits, complementing each other in every way. A few years ago, I used to organise tours as my side hustle ‘Unravelling Nigeria’. One of the trips was to Erin Ijesha waterfalls in Osun state and Esosa had signed up for it. I remember thinking he was annoying because he was constantly emailing about details of the trip and my usual fashion then was to email details a few days before the trip. The day finally came and I met him and he seemed alright. He mentioned he actually signed up because of some other girl he was trying to date and all I could think in my head was “OMG, we could have an unravelling Nigeria couple”.

I was actually in a relationship at the time, so when I started talking to him more I focussed on trying to help him win the heart of this other girl. Long story short, the plan wasn’t working but our friendship grew. After a few months, my other relationship had ended and Esosa realised that he wanted to be more than friends with me. It was a bit of back and forth, but he summoned the courage to ask me to officially be his babe and now, here we are!
