Nonye and Charles started on Instagram and are well on heir happy ever after joy ride now. Charles slid into Nonye’s DM sometime in 2019 and slowly, a friendship was formed. Now the two are set to take their love down the aisle and we’re super stoked for them. Their beautiful pre-wedding photos are giving us all the feels and we bet you’ll love them too.

Their love story as shared by Nonye:

On my birthday in 2019, I received a DM on IG from someone saying, “Nonye you are beautiful”. I was like, huh? Who is this one? In my usual manner, I hardly respond to my DMs. But since it was my birthday, I said thanks and that was it. He came back the next day and I kept giving dry answers because I was not interested in those “Instagram guys”.

I am not sure how, but after a few days, I said okay, let me be less cold. We started talking and he seemed quite intriguing. He was based in Lagos and I was in Abuja so we never saw each other. After 3 months of speaking, he came to see me in Abuja and he was the most playful, childlike/free-spirited and handsome person I had ever met. We were like two peas in a pod lol and I was like “okay, this is it”.

It was such a beautiful experience shuffling Abuja and Lagos because of the distance. We had lots of airport tears lol, extended trips, impromptu visits and the whole experience of a distant relationship. In 2020 during the lockdown, we got engaged. Thereafter, Charles moved to London and it was the most difficult time for us. It was the longest we had ever stayed away from each other and it was torture.

After one year, he came back to Nigeria and here we are planning the rest of our lives together. It has been such a beautiful journey and I cannot wait to experience it with my literal soulmate. I love you, Amore!!
