From the moment they had their first phone call, it was impossible to ignore the spark and instant chemistry. What Gabriel said about building a foundation for his future wife and children wasn’t just career talk — it was the beginning of Silvia’s fairytale. By the following Sunday, they were already on their first date. And it was clear that this was far from your average LinkedIn connection. Now, they’re not just building careers — they’re building a beautiful life together. They exchanged their vows in a beautiful white wedding ceremony and every detail from their big day would have you swooning. 😍

The first time I spoke to Gabriel was on my birthday, September 26, 2022. That day, I made a phone call that I had no idea would lead to an everlasting fairytale. Thanks to my colleague Harry (shout out to Harry!) for asking me on that Monday afternoon to call a prospective candidate for a role: the candidate in question was Gabriel Nwodo. I was excited that I might be able to close a deal as a recruiter, but who knew I was the one up for recruitment? We spoke for two (potentially billable) hours that day. I’m sure that at that moment he didn’t care about the role. He dropped hints left and right, up and down. He said something along the lines of: “I am single. I don’t have a wife and kids yet, so I am working hard now and building for the future… I am setting up a foundation for my wife and our kids in the future.” What I heard was, “I am single. I want to make YOU my wife and have kids with YOU… I am working hard for US, and I want US to build together for OUR family.”

You know us women, we live in La-La Land and hear what we want. Either way, all I knew was that I liked him: I liked him a lot. He asked to take me out the following Sunday, and of course, I accepted. I mean, who would say no to all of that? We spoke regularly that week until our date, and we both were not disappointed; he was even more charming and handsome in person, and I was, of course, delightful and
beautiful as always. I guess the moral of the story is: reply to that LinkedIn recruiter who is bothering you—you never know! Just kidding, or maybe not. Either way, I am glad he replied to the message. I get to marry the love of my life!
