When we hear traditional engagements, a number of things come to mind; cultural display and lots of vibrant colours. However, a lot of things tend to be quite similar.

We love how things were done a little differently at the #TBanks18 traditional engagement just a few days ago.

Let’s talk about the couple’s attire, top Nigerian model and event planner Banke of Events by BankySu and her sweetheart Tolu made such a statement in their Asooke. The bride rocked a super-stylish AsoOke outfit with floral patterns (you’ve gotta see it!…keep scrolling) paired with a vibrantly coloured fan and the groom rocked a traditionally woven AsoOke. We typically see the gift section at Yoruba traditional engagements filled with gifts wrapped in bright colours. Banke and Tolu’s was very different as the gifts were chicly wrapped in brown paper giving it a rustic vibe.

We also love how they brought in the modern twist with the floral decor at the engagement ceremony.
