How did you meet?

We met by the roadside while I was taking my little sister to school. He happened to drive by and was so captivated by me that he just had to stop! Needless to say, I must have been a real showstopper.

What’s the most memorable moment from your 45 years of marriage?

The most memorable moment for us was welcoming our first child together in 1981. It was a truly miraculous experience, and we felt blessed with the most beautiful creation of God.

How do you keep the spark alive in your relationship after 45 years?

We believe the key to keeping the spark alive is rooted in friendship, respect, and prayers. These three pillars have helped us nurture our love and keep it strong through the years.

What advice would you give to newlyweds based on your experience?

Our advice to newlyweds is to be submissive to each other and to fulfil your duties within the family with care and dedication. Embrace the family you’ve married into, work as a team, make decisions together in private and present a united front to the world.

Share a funny or quirky habit that you’ve discovered about each other over the years.

I (Edwin) like to keep records of all the kids’ school fees, while she (Tina) has a quirky habit of meticulously preserving hard copies of every single receipt. Some of these receipts are 30 or 40 years old, and she has them all well-documented.

What do you love most about your partner?

Tina: He has a very kind heart and has always treated me with great care like I’m something precious. He’s loving to a fault.
Edwin: She is my strength today, just as she was the very first day I knew she would be my wife.
