People come into our lives for a reason. Sometimes, we don’t immediately understand why, but with time, clarity unfolds. When Tobi met David, she had a quiet feeling, a knowing, that he was going to be a significant part of her life.
Even though she didn’t instantly know how, something about him just felt right. The first chapter of their love story was written in the university library, where simple conversations blossomed into a beautiful friendship. As time passed and they grew closer, it became clear that what they shared wasn’t something shallow or fleeting — they both wanted something real, something lasting.
This realisation led David to take the bold step of asking Tobi to be his girlfriend… and eventually, his wife. They tied the knot in a glamorous Yoruba-Edo traditional wedding, and it was such a beautiful celebration of culture and love. The blend of traditions was regal and rich, and they looked absolutely stunning together as they began their forever.Their wedding photos will have you celebrating love while soaking in the magic of culture.

Their love story as shared by Tobi:
What started as friendship became a love written long before we met. It was my first week of school, and we were just two students hanging out in the library, meeting new people and trying to get some work done. The funny thing is, I had sworn off boys for a year, so when I saw him, I made a conscious decision to see him as nothing more than a friend. But deep down, there was this unshakable feeling, a quiet knowing: this guy is going to be an important part of my life. I didn’t know how or why, but I knew he was someone I was meant to know. Who would’ve thought he’d become my everything? Our friendship formed naturally, as if we had known each other forever. Within weeks, we found ourselves drawn to each other—not just because we got along well, but because we shared so many oddly specific similarities. It was the kind of connection that made it impossible to ignore that something deeper was unfolding. Eventually, we both admitted that we had feelings for each other, but we made a decision to build a strong foundation first. We weren’t interested in rushing into something shallow or fleeting; we wanted something real. There was never any secrecy or uncertainty—just honesty, trust, and a growing respect that made me admire him more every day.

But God clearly had His own plans. Because as we nurtured that friendship, we fell swiftly and completely in love. It was young love, yes, but it was true in every way—pure, deep, and grounded in something far bigger than just the two of us. We spent nearly every day together, making memories that I cherish to this day. And on August 17, 2019, he asked me to be his girlfriend. That moment marked the beginning of something even greater—a love that would continue to shape us, teach us, and draw us closer to God and to each other. And then, on July 11, 2023, he asked me to be his wife. It was the most sure yes I’ve ever given in my life—after the decision to follow Jesus. And it confirmed what I knew the very first day we met —that somewhere, long before we ever met, it was written that we were meant to be one. And now, we stand here, at the beginning of our road to forever.
Their love story as shared by David:
From a chance meeting to a lifetime of love—our journey to forever began the moment we met. It was my last year of university, and I was in the library, trying to make the most of my final months on campus. She was just starting her journey, meeting new people and settling into life at school. I wasn’t expecting to meet anyone significant that day—certainly not someone who would change my life. But from the moment we spoke, something about her felt different. I didn’t know what role she would play in my story, but I knew she was meant to be in it. We naturally became friends, drawn to each other by effortless conversation and a long list of oddly specific similarities. Over time, it became undeniable—this was something deeper than friendship. But instead of rushing forward, we made a choice to build something real. There were no games, no uncertainty—just honesty, trust, and an ever-growing admiration that made me respect her more each day.

As graduation approached, I found myself wishing time would slow down. For years, I had looked forward to finishing school and returning home, but suddenly, the thought of leaving didn’t feel like something to celebrate. This love—our love—had become something so special, so true, that it made me wish I could stay just a little longer. But even as I left university, I knew one thing for sure: no matter where life took us, we were meant to do it together. Not long after, on August 17, 2019, I asked her to be my girlfriend. That moment marked the beginning of something even greater—a love story that would shape both of our lives. We grew together, learning what love truly means, the way God intended it to be. And on July 11, 2023, I asked her to be my wife. Another indelible mark in this journey—one that will lead us exactly where we were always meant to be. And now, we stand here, at the beginning of our journey to forever.
