Tolu Accompanied Her Sister to Visit a Friend and Found Love! #ToDa24

Isn’t it amazing how one seemingly simple decision can change your life forever—just like in Tolu and Dami’s case.

One fateful day, Tolu decided to accompany her sister to visit a friend. Little did she know that this small gesture would lead her to the love of her life. Sparks flew the moment they met, and although they started as friends, Dami soon won Tolu’s heart completely with his thoughtful gestures, including a series of lovingly made lunches. 😍

Now, they get to say “I do” in the presence of their family and friends, and what a beautiful celebration it is! Tolu looked absolutely stunning while Dami was the epitome of a dapper groom. Their special day was filled with love, joy, and unforgettable memories. You sure want to take it all in.

Their love story as shared by Tolu:

In late June of 2018, my big sister’s childhood friend was in Nigeria for her mum’s 60th birthday celebration. On the last day of her trip, my sister asked me to accompany her to say goodbye to her friend at her parent’s house. We arrived and having had enough of their nostalgic conversations, I decided to step outside for some fresh air.

Tolu came through with that wedding morning glow!

Standing by the fishpond, a car pulled up behind me. At this point, I decided to head back up to my sister and walked towards the entrance of the stairs. Pausing at the entrance, I noticed the new arrivals seemed in a hurry to enter. Among them were my future brother and sister-in-law, followed by Dami in a sparkling white T -shirt and Ankara shorts, a shy smile gracing his face. He greeted me, but my nerves got the best of me, and I was too nervous to reply.

Back upstairs, Dami came over to say hello to my sister. Mid-conversation, he mentioned, “I haven’t met her,” without a pause, he asked for my name and occupation. In no time, my sister mentioned that I was writing my ACCA qualification, which Dami had completed at the time.

When it was time to head home, Dami followed briskly and offered to exchange numbers so he could provide guidance towards completing my ACCA qualification. I gave it to him without delay. Speed up to July 2, I posted something on my WhatsApp story. Dami made a comment which ended in a brief chat that didn’t last a day. The dead spell was broken after another WhatsApp story post on July 26. Our conversations picked up from there, leading to our first unplanned date at Bungalows in VI on August 24.

By September, while observing part of his annual leave, Dami brought a 3-course home made lunch to my office everyday for a week. You would agree with me that it was toooo much for a young lady to handle. 😉

A stunning bride with her stunning squad!

Their love story as shared by Dami:

After a long night out with my brother, Dipo and his wife, Sophia, we returned home late in the morning to catch up with my sister, Fisayo who was returning to the US later that evening. As the gates to my parent’s compound flung wide open, I couldn’t help but stare at the back view of a wonderfully shaped hour glass figure in grey jeans and complimenting neatly woven long black braids standing few meters away.

Of course, Dami sent in something cute for his baby girl!

Thinking out loud, I asked Dipo and Sophia who that could be. While we stared in amazement and wondered, Tolu turned around and made her way towards the stairs. I pulled up hurriedly, telling Dipo and Sophia that in few months, I will have stories to tell. Still dazed, I met Tolu by the stairs and shyly exchanged pleasantries

After settling in and saying sorry to my sister for being away for so long knowing it was her last day in town, my focus shifted back to the mission at hand. I joined the friends and sisters in their gist, soon I had made the conversation about Tolu and her sister did not hold back in sharing as much.

All set for the big day!

Time flew by fast and it was time for Them to head home. I offered to exchange contacts with Tolu so I can provide ‘guidance’ on completing her ACCA qualification, which she obliged to. Few days later I made a failed attempt at creating a lasting conversation by reacting to a post she made. Three weeks went by and another opportunity presented itself. This time, I was more determined to keep the conversation going.

August 24, 2018, Lagos traffic did me a good one, by making Tolu and her other sister, spend the night on the Island. We had what turned out to be our first date. It felt like a missing piece had been found. Second week in September, to tie any possible loose ends, I deployed my culinary skills by making 3-course meals and delivering it warm to Tolu on the dot of her lunch hour everyday for 5 days consecutively. It was at that point I knew that I am a ‘finished man’.
