Whenever we see two lovebirds take that beautiful step to forever, our heart does a little dance. Today, we are all about Toyin and her Sweetheart, Elyon as they get to do this thing called love for life!

Their sweet love story is a classic tale of never say never. Toyin had her reservations about Elyon when a friend told her about him. However, all of that changed the moment she set eyes on him. Now, it is all love in the air as they exchange vows in a beautiful white wedding ceremony. Toyin radiated effortless beauty in her lovely dress and Elyon made a super suave groom. It was such a delight to see them surrounded by so much love and happiness from their family and friends. No doubt, Toyin and Elyon make such a perfect match and we are super excited that love won for these two!

Their love story as shared by Toyin:

I remember the first time I saw a picture of Elyon. It was in 2016/2017. I had just gotten home from class when my friend told me that she knew someone who was single. My friend described Elyon as “nice, God-fearing, handsome, a pastor’s son, and a future doctor.” Out of all the words used to describe Elyon, the only thing that made me hesitate was the fact that he was a doctor. I had my preconceived perception that “Nigerian doctors are so full of themselves” and I did not want to deal with a man thinking he was the prize.

I decided to play it off like I wasn’t “super” interested. We stopped speaking a few months later, but for the strangest reason, my mind kept going to him ever so often. Fast-forward to 2019 when we finally met each other in person, I realized I was completely wrong. Elyon was so down to earth, funny, humble, and weird lol! I think at that moment, I thought to myself “yeah, he’s gonna be my husband, he just doesn’t know it yet.”

From then on, I joked with my friends telling them to start calling me Iyawo Doctor (Doctor’s wife). Initially, we did not speak often, but when we spoke, we talked for hours about everything and nothing at all. The conversations grew more frequent and before we knew it, we were speaking every day at every chance we got. I realized he had every single quality in a man that I desired. Those feelings have only gotten stronger and I am so excited for the journey ahead!

All set to say “I do”

The first time I saw a photo of Toyin, one of my buddies asked me if she was cute. Her bright brown eyes and warm smile leapt off the screen. Years later, (after a series of funny events) we finally met up during “Howard homecoming” after dodging each other for what seemed like a decade. We talked for hours about everything from faith to food, travel to favourite embarrassing moments. I knew immediately that she was someone I’d want to spend forever with, but God knows I took my time along the way! I’m so thankful to God for this journey He’s allowed me to walk with her.
